Bonner County is located in northern Idaho, bordering Washington and Montana. It ranks 8th among Idaho counties in population, and 19th in area. It has the largest water area of all Idaho counties, with water making up about 9.5 percent, or 183 square miles, of the county's surface. Lake Pend Oreille, Priest Lake, Cabinet Gorge and other waterways provide limitless opportunities for recreation. Excellent skiing is available at Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort.

Bonner General Hospital is a full-service, acute care hospital licensed for 25 beds. Bonner General Hospital serves a population of over 57,000 people in a widely-dispersed geographical area that extends to the Canadian border, eastern Washington and western Montana. The hospital is currently the fourth largest employer in Bonner County with 425 hospital employees and over 50 medical staff members.
Bonner partners in Care Clinic () provides health care to residents of Bonner County and adjacent communities who have no medical insurance and meet the Clinic's eligibility criteria.
